Tho life was never good to me, I have done well so far. But as any story goes, with its ups and downs, it is the same with life. I came from what I call a pit of despair, filled with all the darkest emotions, it was no place for a child to begin his life. As the saying goes, "Shit happens." it has been a constant climb from that place. But here I am, finally, on the green grass. But alas the greenest of grass turns a bitter brown come winter. Some wait idly, ignorant of the coming frost. But there are a few that are mindful of the knowledge of that bitter winter, creeping ever so quickly, to chill their bones and to devourer their bounty. Those few that realize this, have but one option. They must face that bitter winter, in all its fury and rage. They must do this at the soonest possible moment. To do any less, to wait even the slightest of moments, weakens their resolve. They can not let the sent of daffodils and cool morning mist lure them into a false seance of safety. No, they must clime mountains, cross valleys, even brave raging waters. At the end of their journey, and after a life long battle, they may just well come out the victor.
Perhaps I, myself, have been stagnate too long. Alas I needed some time to rest my body and mind from the horror that I saw. I see the green grass, with it's color beginning to fad. There is still yet time. A man with strong resolve and strong will my yet still make his journey. He can no longer wait, at such a time as this. Am I such a man? I would like to be. But if I am few believe it.
As a child, I was less then special. I was as dirty as a beggar, and as bitter as a man who has seen his best friend die violently at the hands of some one he thought he knew. The world was new to me, and yet is was so unforgiving. I was lost even when I was home. The world had already forgotten me, even at such a young age. Many children in such an environment, as they mature, grow bitter and violent. They may even turn this anger on themselves. I on the other hand have internalized my emotions, as many others have. But doing such a thing, caging something as natural as emotion, is never meant to be done. It has torn me up inside, and, I am broken inside.
As I have said I want to be the kind of man that can achieve such a journey as the one I so desperately need to achieve. I also said few believe it, but what I did not say is that I wish I believed it. For if the truth where to be told, I don't. But as they say, "fake it till you make it."
