6TH BOROUGH QUARTET, founded in 2010, is a New-York based string quartet comprised of four talented young musicians from Philadelphia. Longtime friends and collaborators Clare and Maria Semes, Caeli Smith, and Mitch Lyon have been playing chamber music together for most of their musical lives and are currently students at the Juilliard School in New York City.

6th Borough challenges the boundaries of the traditional string quartet with its exciting and varied offerings of classical and alternative music. Programs range from selections of uptown classics by composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Brahms, to arrangements of downtown jazz standards, tangos, and world music, as well as popular music from a myriad of times, places, and cultures. The quartet's versatility makes them highly sought-after for events ranging from formal recitals and featured performances to weddings, ambient music at cocktail parties, dinner receptions, and corporate events.
