Just to follow on to the CRV differential topic...I have read on that there is a honda bulletin out on this differential issue and it involves additional task of burnishing the clutch plates on the differential. Any thoughts on that practice and whether a "handy home mechanic" can perform that task?

Changing Honda CRV differential fluid seems to be a critical issue. Can you tell me what happens if someone uses the wrong fluid? I am looking at buying a CRV with 60000 miles and it appears fluid was never changed until recently and they subsequently used the wrong fluid. It made massive clanking when put in gear and turning. Now that the correct fluid has been put in it, it seems to be working better, but for how long? Help before I make a purchasing mistake. :)
