About this user

God has saved me. Whilst I delight in God and His salvation, and love the Doctrines of Grace, I still struggle a lot with ill health- I have bipolar disorder. I do believe in God's power to heal, but I also believe that God is too wise to be mistaken, and too good to be unkind. My experience is that through my physical and mental suffering, my spiritual life has blossomed. And it's my spiritual life that's eternal, so that's good with me. Where my treasure is, there my heart is. I used to be fit, slim and energetic- I tended to rely on myself, and invest a lot of energy into looking and feeling good. I have other temptations now, but in my physical, emotional and mental weakness, i cast myself on God much more. So I have resigned myself to medication, probably lifelong, as being a provision from God to keep me functioning.
I do need to keep functioning, I have 2 dependant children. My husband is a great help, but he is their step-dad, so it's not easy.
I am so grateful to have been able to be a nurse, I love nursing, and particularly being able to have good conversations with patients and colleagues, sensitively witnessing to God's grace and goodness (is my aim). I manage 3 day shifts a week, carefully planned to give me plenty of rest between shifts.
I enjoy the worship songs, and videos from other christians on youtube. A lot has surprised me- I didn't know about KJVonlyism- that really baffles me! I knew nothing of Lordship Salvation, little of Sinless Perfectionism, and the Rapture- wow, all fascinating- but kind of crazy to me. My outlook is still solidly reformed, conservative (but not in politics) evangelical. And I really believe that the local church (though far from ideal) is the best place for Christians to gather together to worship God, fellowship together and work and witness together. I know there are hundreds of denominations, and thousands of arguments- youtube shows this clearly. But I really believe that God understands all our differences, and is working in all churches large and small, where there are true believers. A lot of the channels I have subscribed to have videos with which I don't agree. As long as someone is born again, then they are my brother or sister in Christ and I want to celebrate with them, not argue with them. Blessed are the peacemakers! But I do appreciate efforts made on youtube to expose dangerous teachings. I have a lovely christian friend who is deceived by the Kenneth Copeland ministries- it's so hard to talk to her, she gets so upset- but youtube videos have educated me so I can talk more clearly to my friend.
I long for peace on earth. I know I have peace in my heart, here on earth. But I see so much evil and strife. I am convinced though, that God is totally in control, and that His kingdom is GROWING!
