Here's a fill i attempted to nick from Aaron Spears. I came out sounding a little different which I guess is a good thing. The sticking is.... 1 + A 2 + A 3 + A 4 + A RL KK RL RL KK RL RL KK RL RK RK RL
******** So ive had this vid up for a while and im getting quite a few questions on why when people play it, it doesn't "flow" very well....Here's what I normally answer that question with...
"I guess playing really slowly for a long time is an obvious place to start but once you are getting it upto speed the accents are really important. In that video i'm accenting ON the beat everytime...E.g. 1 2 3 4 and trying to ghost most other notes I play with my hands.
Another good excercise is to work on your triplets between hands and feet as an excercise. So I might play RLRLKK to a click quite slowly. Then maybe KKRLRL and RLKKRL
This will get you comfortable with the timing and feel of splitting the hands and feet in a linear fashion. The reason linear playing can be quite hard is because there's no limb thats "keeping time" so we have to have a strong inner clock
Hope that helps
