again terrible attempt at rock'n'roll by a pathetic english performer..apart from Vince Taylor,

Johnny Kidd and the one great record from Cliff Richard (Move it) it was almost all jumping on

the bandwagon by variety artists and jazzers making some money.........this is a fine example

of an awful ...

eddie cochran on bass vocals..terrific track..white doo wop........

let us never forget the wonder of King Oliver's Syncopators ..such a hot band and

possibly the jazziest of them all..........Jeely Roll was ,of course, superb; I always

found Ellington a little formal and over arranged.

without much doubt Frankie Vaughan was one of the worst of the singers who

attempted to cash in on rock'n'roll....hopeless variety singer who had as much swing

as a rusty old gate....he did make some dreadful records. Should have stuck to his

straw hat routines.

this is just a brilliant piece of narration...love it.

This is Ken Colyer prior his visit to New Orleans when he played at his very exciting

best and with an attack and style of his own ....sadly I believe he sometimes tried

too hard to play in a "New Orleans" style upon his return from the kid shiek, elmer

talbert, etc influence...................t...

'Twenty Flight Rock' remains one of the greatest rock'n'roll songs ever ..sadly most

of Cochrans slow songs are almost unlistenable.

Great song by a terrific artist...just love solo acousticmusic and this is the best.

I visited Memphis some years back and was fortunate enough to have Malcomn

yelvington show me around the Sun Studios ; total gentleman gracious with his time and knowledge.......and he knew just what he was talking about. He certainly made

the visit very special and memorable. Really great guy.

I wrote before but forgot to mention that which I believe to be his best recording one without heavy backing which occasionally swamped his wonder voice..the track being a B side entitiled "Next To Me" which is just spell bindiing!!!!!!

what a dreadful stupid song by a chap who could'nt sing his way out a a paper bag...

probably the least talented of all the english copyists.

quite amazing..Vincent certainly had a wonderous voice and the best band of the lot..

shame americans seemed to lose interest in the founders of rock'n'roll just to move

on to something new...listen to his 'Peace of Mind' recording to hear his quite

beautiful singing .................

Chip Taylor one of the very finest talents..fortunate to have seen /heard him in local rooms above pubs solo.....here in Bristol England and found him great each time.

@JDWnSRV Okay I meant all time..and of the era !!!! some of his recordings were

too heavily orchestrated with angelic choirs..not necessary with Clyde due to that

wonderful voice..demonstrated on the magnificent "Next to Me" just a B side

and I think his finest recording....

William Nelson is somewhat confused ..to my ears (and I 'm not young and quite

prepared to list ALL my favourite singers) Mr.Nelson voice allways quivers and

hovers around notes with a shakey distinct vibrato which...
