Never heard this version - the one on the soundtrack LP is identical to the one in the film, with the big band arrangement. Saw this at the Kokusai Theatre in L.A. back in '85. I believe a lot of the miniature footage came from the 1976 Saburo Sakai biopic. Pretty good SFX for the '70s.

When I visited Graceland in 2006, the PA system at the beginning of the tour played an old home recording of Vernon, Gladys And Elvis singing together; Vernon sounded even more like Elvis than he does here, and Gladys had a sweet voice too. Wish the estate would release it!

This is for me the funniest part of the movie - Joe Bologna quickly studying and picking up Cameron Mitchell's little mannerisms and repeating them - in mirror image! (A tribute to Groucho and Harpo's mirror routine?)

took me years to find a copy of this record (in Chicago!) - guess nobody wanted to give one up... I know how they feel! As I've heard the story "I Confess" was put together out of parts of two or three songs they'd written; any truth to that?
