I just bought a 308a on auction. The rotating head looks like new, but the screw on the end of the bail opposite the trip mechanism is broken, and the pivot eye on the end of the bail wire is missing. A local shop says I have to buy a replacement rotor head, but the reel looks so pretty otherwise...

Dogs and cats: a comical mix! An elghund is absolutely the best dog you can get, provided you can live with a shedding machine with a piercing bark and an IQ rivaling Wolfgang Pauli's.

My Moose has not only learned to use a backscratcher, but also to assemble one from partially used rawhide bones.

@rattinox As to how we became the dominant species, we really aren't. Our moosedogs let us think we are because we have the thumbs and can open the peanut butter and scratch between the shoulder blades.. They are, however, the ones truly in charge. Keep the arfspring happy! ^-^

You'd have a heart of stone to be able to listen to this and not smile. That Mendelssohn moment starting at 10:30 and building to the recapitulation is, in my opinion, one of the most thrilling passages in all of western music, and it was written by a sixteen-year-old boy!

@daeviydt A polka is supposed to be a lively dance; this was quite a good and enthusiastic interpretation. Ya gotta love Weinberger's dissonance, as one might expect in a folk band. This is a fun piece, impossible to play or to listen to without a smile.
