@Thesupersmith79.... great to hear you are working toward flying with MAF. In some parts of the world, the MAF single engine pilots wear helmets just to be a bit safer in an accident. It's not that uncommon - ag pilots (crop dusters) wear them all the time as do the air race guys (like Red Bull).
Not being critical - this is a well executed, high skill manoeuvre - but I think he either had a flap failure or was doing it for practice. Flapless short-field approaches are not normal ops in a C206. The same approach angle can be achieved with 40deg flap.
