Sounds really good. Does the Si have an intake "tube" like in the GTI? Basically a device to pipe the engine sound into the cabin when you floor the throttle.

I'd rather go with a base Mazdaspeed3 for only about $1500 more. The Speed is not without its faults, but at least it has character.

Great video! Probably among the best on YouTube with a stock Mk5. I used to have this car, and my favorite thing was cracking the window open on a cool night and hearing the turbo. VW did a great job with that, and with the induction sound that's piped into the cabin.

This is the best car commercial ever made, in my opinion. Too bad the one currently running on TV has been edited so heavily. After watching this, I want to sprint to the Mazda dealer and buy a Speed 3.

The US GTI has an electronically governed top speed, whereas the Speed3 has no limiter. I suppose you can look to the aftermarket for getting more power for the GTI, but I wouldn't want to mess with the warranty. I'd be happy with either car.

Great car! Seeing that you live in Canada, have you seen any premature corrosion anywhere on the car? I've read about rust complaints on Mazda forums, especially from owners who live in cold climates. Maybe they never wash the road salt off.

@onebadgs400 You'll also see Honda dealers gouging buyers because of low inventory. You can buy a Mazdaspeed 3 (base) for less than the Civic Si.

When the 8th Gen. Civic came out in 2005, it seemed to be from the future. Way ahead of the competition. The 9th Gen is Honda treading water. Even Hyundai has surpassed them.

This is a Mexican-built piece of crap, marketed as a "German" car to hapless American drivers. This will also be the case with the new Passat, which will be nothing like the one sold in Europe, and will be assembled in Tennessee.
