I started learning drums when i was in yr 2 and i kinda sucked until i discovered music. the first band i ever got interested in was Green Day and since their 2004 album "American Idiot" I became a rabid fan memorizing all their songs and buying every single one of their cd's. For several years I was in love with punk until in late 2008 I was looking at the halo 2 soundtrack where I started to get into the song "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin. Thats when I got my first taste of a heavy genre of music. I made a crappy drum cover of this song on my old channel which...well...embarrasses me so I got a new channel. Later on that year I heard one of my classmates listening to an intense guitar driven song that sounded like what I would imagine Asian thrash to be. The band was called "DragonForce". So I went home and bought their most recent album "Inhuman Rampage" off iTunes. I liked the music so I looked at other recommended bands similar to dragonforce and I discovered a metal band called "Disturbed". So i went out and bought their album that had only just been released and got listening. Soon I bought The breaking benjamin album "Phobia" which was an amazing peice of work that I became obsessed with. In earlyish 2009 I found a band on YouTube called "Dethkalypse" and a song called "Architects of Plague". This extremely heavy instrumental was very impressive so I checked out their Myspace page. They had another instrumental called "Labyrinth of the Damned" which I also really liked. Then I heard the version with vocals. The vocals version of Labyrinth was what showed me how screams and death growls can work perfectly with heavy songs. After that my taste in music exploded and I got interested in such bands as Suicide Silence, Slipknot, Slayer, Chelsea Grin and Devil Wears Prada. I first started learning bass at the end of year 5 and I started guitar about halfway through last year. I got stuck into writing songs and doing metal vocals in the last few months of 2009.
