I have to agree about the lock, but as a survival tool,just for the firestarting this knife could save someone's life. As a very well known survival expert famoulsly commented when asked " what is the best survivalknife?" He replied " The one you have on you"

ASP are a good baton, I would be wary of trying to strike with your initial open though. If you make the stike before your baton is fully extended it may fail to lock open and you don't want that. Not a critiscism just an observation.
