I'm a writer/lyricist/singer & I dabble with the keyboard.
But I'm not looking to be famous or get a contract. I like encouraging others.
My thoughts on Freedom of speech:
I believe in a world that has a right to the Freedom of speech. Simply put to me that means that everyone has the right to voice their opinions. It doesn't matter whether someone else likes the comment or not. Everyone has the right to say how they feel or what they think about something, within reason. Of course it is curteous to try to be considerate of anothers feelings, but there are alot of people who don't do that.
In making our comments we should consider that not everyone will like what we have to say. But whether they like it or not we should not have to fear harassment, intimidation, or retaliation from other users on youtube, that may come in the form of name calling or harassing messages, due to any statement we have made.
If we are an artist and someone is posting constructive criticism, we should consider it to be just that, and not an attack on our work or person. If we choose to attack anothers person first by our comments we can expect someone to come back with the same, but if we are just trying to point out something that may help a product sell better, then we should not have to endure harassment in the form of name calling on the sly through private messages because we pointed something out.
Youtube is a forum where people often post their work, while it allows the space for comments on that work. I've seen alot of negative comments, but I've never sent someone a private message calling them a name or saying hurtful things because of their message & I would appreciate it if others refrain from doing it to me!
Consider this, if you are a friend of the artist & you are harassing someone for a comment they posted that you didn't like, you may just be making that artist lose customers on a product they are trying to sell, by your behavior!

A few little tidbits of wisdom...
"Worry when you don't have hatas, because that means you are not doing anything to make anyone jealous yet & that you can probably do better.
When people hate its usually because they are jealous because they recognize something in what you are doing they wish they could do.
Worry when they smile in your face all the time because a true friend will NOT always be happy with you. They won't be afraid to tell you when they feel you have offended them or when they feel you messed up, and that's the kind of friends you need!
It's a balance game, if they are too much of any one thing, be careful! that means they are not being "real" with you & that's not the kind of friend you want or need in your life. You want people who are sincere, genuine & honest with you at all times."
