Today, as we commemorate the Triumph of the Cross, through which the human race was saved, I would like to explain my profile picture: the painting "Domine, Quo Vadis" of the Italian painter Carraccio.

In the Year of the Lord 64, the first Pope of the Holy Catholic Church, St. Peter, was fleeing Rome, believing he was doing the Lord's will (Mt 10:23). As he walked, he had a vision of the Lord walking in the opposite direction. Astonished, St. Peter asked: "Lord, where are you going?" To which the Lord begun to answer: "Back to Rome", thus pointing out to St. Peter that, despite his good faith, he was going in a completely wrong direction!

Let us "deny self, take up our cross daily, and follow" the Lord Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, who said: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Nobody comes to the Father except through me." This way we will never be lost: neither we will choose the wrong path, nor we will be distracted by our personal interpretations of the Sacred Scriptures.
