I can not speak for all non-believers, only for myself.
When I look at the violence, and indoctrination of children, by a religion that can offer nothing more then a book riddled in contradiction as evidence, I have a problem with that.
It is clear when you compare the more secular parts of the world with the religious, that religious extremism is the key factor to much of the trouble in the world. It is a call for awareness.
The only thing keeping Christianity from being as bad as Islam is that it is constrained by secular societies and governments, whereas Islam dominates whole governments in the Middle East, like Iran and Saudi Arabia.
I think it's important for children to understand concepts of religion because, like it or not, it's part of our world. We should seek understanding, and part of understanding people is understanding various belief systems. There is a huge difference between teach and indoctrinate though. And I would actively DISCOURAGE getting into it with kids that aren't old enough to understand the difference. Their friends will eventually tell them Santa isn't real, they might not do the same for god.
