Anything that I do is motivated by leaving behind something better, not worse, for my children to inherit. Perhaps its hokey or outmoded to think in terms of "Truth, Justice and the American Way", but what's wrong with that? Especially in the positive, constructive terms our Founders left for us to safeguard. I'm a concerned law-abiding Citizen, Worried Parent, Student of History, Son of Legal Immigrants whose Parents suffered at the Fists and Gunbarrels of their oppressive Socialist State.

My parents escaped their socialist despots to come here to the USA so that they could have a better life for themselves. And they did make that dream a reality. Thank you Mom and Dad for your bravery and sacrifice. I hope I can do for my kids what you did for me.

My wife's family had to endure the Soviet Union. The lies, corruption, rationing and oppression of a false utopia. A portion of her family was sent to the gulags. That family, FAMILY, was sent to the gulags. Only one returned many, many years later. The mother barely survived. Her health was destroyed. Her mind was destroyed. And her family was dead. That is the legacy of the USSR.

From these experiences and stories I've heard, I will oppose the false promises of a socialist/communist utopia. Whether you call it social justice, socialism, communism, statism, marxism, whatever, it amounts to the diminishment of the individual and their personal Human Rights and the growing dominance of "The State". That is when Human Beings become a replaceable commodity of little value.

The United States Constitution sees it differently. That, as human beings, our Creator has endowed us with certain inalienable, individual rights that no government can rescind or selectively bestow.

Our Founding Fathers were right to establish a republic with checks and balances to safeguard against tyranny and preserve liberty. Individual rights must be protected.

One of the many things that makes America great is the peaceful change of leadership by its citizenry. Where other nations rely on bullets, we rely on the ballot. Regardless of your background; be involved. If you are not a part of the process, then you are a part of the problem.

Be informed. Vote responsibly. Our future is dependent on how we in the present preserve the rights and liberties outlined in the past within the Constitution. It is a legacy worth passing on to our future generations.

"We the people" do not exist to serve government. The government works to serve us; "we the people".
