@mistertwist actually it was 100-12000. And I don't think it's made up, I think he meant to type in 10,000-12,000 a year and it was a typo. But anyway more or less it was a pretty accurate average. I've heard of up to 15,000 deaths due to snake bites a year, so he's not just making stuff up.
