When you only fish for sturgeon 1 or 2 times per year it's quite challenging to time the hookset right.

@o0Guns0o They are protected in the lower Fraser River and endangered in the upper Fraser. We are fishing in the lower near Vancouver.

@vouyroy Fish was released unharmed. There are places in the U.S. where they catch large sturgeon. You have to use the appropriate tackle for the size of fish.

@TheUltimateF It's called a fighting belt - used to protect your lower belly. Many tough guys won't use them except for the biggest fish. I think this one was belt-worthy. Check out my other video "Belt or no Belt" for an example.
