In the USUAL case, this is true. You are taught to get low, and push up into the chest with your shoulder, thus obviously generating upward momentum.

BUT, notice how in this hit, his upward momentum is obvious? Fistric doesn't push his moment...

@roman61 It's pretty obvious that he was jumping out of the way. If he doesn't jump, this hit is so much worse. Tootoo jumps away from the net as much as he can on this play, and actually ends up avoiding head contact.
