3.1 is the music and youth outreach events of Jerome Mark Mikulich. He is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago IL where he received a B.A. Degree in the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management Program with an emphasis on sound engineering in the music industry.

Mikulich was the Chief Recording Engineer/Producer of the Playroom Recording Studio in Chicago, IL from 1989-99.

In 1993, he founded a music production company called "Playroom Records and Productions" where he produced and wrote music for himself and other artists. During his career Mikulich has be blessed to have worked with Grammy and Platinum award winning artists. Mikulich has engineered for artists who have appeared on Warner Brothers Records, Mercury/PolyGram Records and many other well known and independent record labels.

Mikulich has personally written and recorded many of his own songs outside of the 3.1 catalog. He received a record review in Billboard Magazine for one song entitled "It Feels Right" which featured an artist named "Nature Love". Mikulich was awarded a platinum record for engineering the music of a "Peoples choice Award" winning artist in Europe and has recorded for many other well known major and independent record labels as an artist, songwriter, engineer, producer and re-mixer.

Mikulich began writing his 3.1 music in 1989 with a synthesizer, keyboard sampler and a computer sequencer. The sound of his 3.1 music is melodic and high energy in nature, derived from customized drums sounds, percussion instruments, synthesizers, broadcast radio and sound bites, synthesized bass sounds and include his own lead and background singing vocals.

The new high-tech electronic sound of 3.1 is a blend of many different music genre'. It is a unique and thought provoking experience.

The debut 3.1 release is entitled "31 Degrees and Two Miles of Fog." This album features ten original songs all written and performed by Mikulich.

The sophomore 3.1 release is entitled "Spiritual Forecast" and contains 14 songs written in a NEW music style called "Message Progressive". A trademark 3.1 sound creation. This unique style sets 3.1 apart from any other music genre in the music industry today. We know you will enjoy the resonant passion of 3.1
