Wow! I just watched this whole series. I am used to more show biz with this group: clothes, Elana's rolling eyes, etc. But it is refreshing to just be able to concentrate of the music. I have seen very few groups where all the members are such top flight instrumentalists.

Take another look. Ian appears to be in his 50s and Sylvia in her mid to late 40s. I would say this is from the 1980s. Also, Martin wasn't making that guitar in 1964.

The two videos from the Sanctuary show that you posted are stunning. I always knew that the HCC were amazing musicians, but trading off with Frank Vignola really gets everybody's juices flowing. Elana's bowing at about 1:20 is so astonishing that Vignola looks genuinely impressed. I had to watc...

Great! This is a very popular song from the Mexican Revolution that was renamed when it was copied in Texas. The original name is Jesusita en Chihuahua and you can hear many mariachi versions by searching under that name.

For my musical tastes, I hope you're right. I got the news about the break up of the Belleville Outfit last week and then this week I found a video of Ruby playing Duke Ellington's C-Jam Blues with Graham Reynolds. I really liked the video and went to find sheet music for it, but I live for 40s...

I was wondering who the femaie fiddler was next to Jason Roberts. Then about 2:53 I saw her bopping about and her head nodding in time and I'm pretty sure it's Ruby Jane Smith. I can't see her face, but the dancing, bopping and head nodding sure looks like her.

This is great, a normal teenager. I've been watching Ruby Jane videos for a year and this is one of the best. She may be Dale Earnhardt, Jr on the fiddle, but it's good to know grandpa is showing her the ropes when it comes to driving.
Very nice!
