Oh my god! I lived in eastern Kansas and Kansas City in the late 80's and this always freaked me out! Especially the screen slowly clearing (like a ghost) and the skull staring straight at you! And the KCTV announcer laughing made it more scary!

Why would this be accompanied to jazz music that has a happy tune? Oh My God! I lived in Sacramento back then and promos & commercials for these, including the freaky opener, would show during Channel 40's kids programming and it would give me nightmares everytime I see the rotating 40 logo!
