About this user

James Timothy Watson, Jr. was born and reared in Fort Valley, GA by parents Mattie & James T. Watson, Sr. He has three siblings: Chanda, Tasha, and Cedric. He makes a home in Southwest Atlanta with his loving wife Audrey, and is blessed to be the proud father of three extraordinary children: Tré, Alexus, and Christian.

Tim was raised by Christian parents, and within a God-fearing community. He came to know Christ himself at an early age but recognizes his actual "rebirth date" as April 3, 1996 when he personally accepted God's calling and Jesus Christ as head of his life.

After graduating from Peach County High School in 1988, Tim went on to have an exceptional college career as a student-athlete at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Tim completed a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business Marketing with cum laude honors in 1992, followed by post-graduate studies in Athletic Administration.

Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1993, Tim went on to have a well-traveled 7-year professional football career, playing with the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Barcelona Dragons, Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Rattlers. In 2005, he was honored with induction into the Howard Athletic Hall of Fame.

After years of traveling the world, visiting churches around the globe, and intensely studying God's word, Tim became increasingly aware that the clarity of interpretations the Spirit revealed to him was a gift not meant just for him. It became apparent that God had a plan for his life within the body of believers. He accepted God's call to the Christian ministry and was ordained non-denominationally on March 26, 2002.

"The more Christian clergy have to lose by speaking truth prophetically, the less likely they are to do so." Tim witnessed this simple statement spoken by Pastor Robert Guerrero during an international Reconciliation Forum held the summer of 2002 at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL. This further affirmed for Tim's God's divine appointment on his life. With that convicting statement Tim set out to ensure that he lived his calling scripturally sound. Through continued Spiritual maturity, divine affirmations, and an increasing knowledge of the life of Jesus Christ, God has ordered Tim's steps to concentrate solely on biblical-correctness administered in love rather than age-old traditions or political-correctness that appeases the masses. He wholeheartedly believes that ministry should never be self-serving, but serving one's self to others.

Initially, Tim limited his ministry activities to guest speaking engagements, charitable work through his personal foundation, marital counseling, life coaching, and leading small group ministries. UPLIFT, one of the foundational principles of his beloved brotherhood, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. became the theme of the ministry birthed in those small group gatherings. Tim led fellowship and worship in which the non-biblical traditions were addressed and dismissed, while the diversities of the members (cultural, ethnic, stylistic, etc.) were shared, encouraged, and celebrated. After 10 years of operating in primarily a parachurch role, Tim is answering God's directive for UPLIFT Community Fellowship to plant its seeds in Atlanta, GA and allow Him to reveal His TRUTH.
