Unfortunately LTE will start to slow down when people start getting onto it in large numbers. Right now only 5% of Verizon's customers have an LTE device.

LTE's final specs will be 1 Gbps while stationary and 100 Mbps while moving.

Verizon is a rip off. 2GB a month for $30? Shouldn't you get MORE data as the network gets faster? Are we going to get to a point where the network can do one terabit a second down but you only get 5 MBs a month??

We chose to focus on free electron lasers, while giving secondary interest to particle beams.

@Dann054 HSPA+ 42 Mbps, while not "true" 4G matches the performance of LTE. Enough so that you can say that T-Mobile offers 4G speeds.

Remember that EVDO Rev. A (the 3G that Sprint and Verizon uses), is technologically limited to 3.2 Mbps down. T-Mobile has the fastest 3G in the US.

EVDO rev. A is technologically limited to 3.2 Mbps. That's why Verizon and Sprint are going over to LTE, a form of GSM. CDMA is a dead end technology.

@themens200 They did anti-ship missile testing against the thickness of Iowa belt and the missiles basically bounced off. These battleships are not slow either, they can reach 30 knots.

@Whizard72 Not true, the Wisconsin in Norfolk harbor still has dehumidifiers and preservation systems hooked up. The public is only allowed to walk around on the main deck for this reason.

The other advantage to HSPA+ is that it provides a speed boost to 3G devices. In a 4G area, my galaxy tab hit 7 Mbps. That's close to its max hardware speed of 7.2 Mbps.

It is also much less power intensive than LTE.

The max that the HSPA+ technology can go to theoretically is 168 Mbps down. That is a future release obviously lol.

Once more than three people get onto the network, it will slowdown.
