About this user

Second Order of Business is a young band based in south San Diego who's gone from it's humble origins as a highschool guitar club product in the summer of 2008, to a multifaceted collection of musicians dedicated to spread their sound to the masses. Second Order of Business has an eclectic sound reminiscent of the dynamic live style of Dave Mathews Band, sprinkled with the unpendantic pop powerhouse sounds of John Mayer and Eric Hutchinson, and finally cooled down with the summer beach town sounds of Sublime and Jack Johnson. The musicians of S.O.B. are focused and determined to share their good vibrations with the world.

Each member brings his unique stylings to the band to create a creature that is greater than the sum of it's parts. Second Order of Business features guitarist/vocalist and all around front man Paul May, usually seen with his distinctive fedora upon his head. Paul began a musical career early, learning to play violin as a child. He later picked up the guitar in highschool, and began to work on a small project as the singer/songwriter and guitarist. His skills only increased since getting familiar in the world of contemporary musicians.

Part of the project Paul began featured bassist David Powers, whose style incorporates elements of ska music, along with blues and psychedelic rock. David's relative inexperience on bass was quickly filled in by Paul's coaching, and a unique friendship was born. Through practice and consistency, the project seemed to be taking off. Shows were lining up, and their repetouir of songs was steadily increasing. The project adopted the name Second Order of Business.

Third piece of the S.O.B. lineup is Josh Lucero. His incredible intuition on drums and percussion bring a rock-solid foundation to the Business. Josh is an extremely talented asset, consistently delivering unparalleled percussive drive to the band. Though he may come off as a little timid, Josh is a drummer who sure knows how to rock the house, and isn't afraid to do so.

Rounding out Second Order of Business is pianist Temo Aguilar. With years of formal music training, and influences drawn from Jazz, pop, and classical music, Temo brought another stellar piece to the musical mega entity that is S.O.B. His knowledge of music theory, and his always-positive personality help clean up the rough edges of S.O.B.'s music.

Second Order of Business has spent a year evolving it's sound to what it's wanted to be. Along the way, it's shared the stage with acts such as Featherbrains, Disposible Heroes, and 20/20 and the Myopic Tendencies. S.O.B. is available for shows every Summer, so don't hesitate to get in touch! With a musical mission to bring some venerable vibes to the world, this band is ready to take on anything.
