About this user
Born and raised in Bronx, New York Skit was always into music. What first started out as dancing, slowly but surely moved to a more conscience and attentive way of interpreting music. At age 12 due to his parents separation, Skit was expected to mature and be the man of the house. Half a year later him, his mother, and brother packed up their one bedroom apartment to start over in Richmond, VA. Not knowing anybody in the new area Skit stayed to himself and listened to music and watched hood based movies. Inspired by Juice Skit was inspired to DJ, and his father supported him by supplying equipment. With two turntables, mixer, and speakers Skit put in hours to craft his skill. In Junior High Skit started writing rhymes in a green seventy page spiral notebook for fun, sometimes serious, sometimes parodies. Disgusted by hearing other classmates material, he decided to pursue rap as well, determined to show people he is the best. He then assembled a duo and his rap career began from there. Starting off with just a tape deck and a microphone, Skit knew he needed to step up his production skills. As years passed he began to develop an all around understanding of production and engineering. Not taking any classes he put in the long hours to perfect his craftagain. Skit has been rapping, producing, engineering for several years, and DJing on and off as well. Skit looks to supply a message in every lyric, every verse, and every song he creates. He isnt your average gangster rapper because he doesnt want that image. He believes whatever you do in the streets doesnt make you a better rapper. If you hustle or bust your guns, thats cool, but it doesnt make your bars hotter. Constantly inspired by Tupac, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Biggie he understands to be one of the best, you have to take a risk and be different. Speaking from experiences from the real world, girls, and his struggles, Skit constantly finds inspiration for another word, for another song.
