The purpose of this You Tube site is to provide interested viewers with past documentaries concerning World War II. Many documentaries date from World War II or proceeding years after. Many have quite startling interviews and information. Most earlier documentaries are laced with propaganda, but that can be filtered through.

These videos are all public domain videos

This site is dedicated to Col. James Hanley. Commander of the 2nd Battalion, 442 Regimental Combat Team of World War II fame.He was also Chief of the Eighth Army's War Crimes Section in Korea He was my uncle.

The 442 Regimental Combat Team (442 RCT) was composed almost entirely of Japanese-American soldiers. The commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion/442 was Lt. Col James Hanley. He was my uncle and a great friend. His wonderful stories and influences will always be with me

Thank you and I hope you enjoy

You have a great channel here. I have been to Saipan last year and look forward to Guam and Iwo Jima this next March. Your films cement these places into historical perspective for me.

Thank you for uploading all these videos. Quality is amazing.
I'm off work with a broken leg, I spend a lot of time on the couch lately and have my computer next to me on the coffee table. If my dog could fetch beer I'd likely never get off it, haha
I've watched about 6hrs of your videos today and will likely do the same tomorrow being remembrance day ( I believe it's called veterans day in the U.S ) I come from a family with a long military history. My grandfather was in WWI and my father served 27yrs in the army as a mechanic(R.C.E.M.E) and was in the Korean war. Both survived and returned home.I'm glad you got to hear your uncles stories.
Thanks again, all the best.

As soon as I saw the title "2bn442RCT" I knew that this was a channel I wanted to subscribe to. I know what that title means and I know of the men of that unit. They were the best of the best. "Go for Broke!"

Both my Grandfathers fought in WW2. One served with the Royal Canadian Navy, while the the other served in the Royal Navy. The one that fought with RCN was a Lt. Cmdr. and Head quartermaster on several destroyers during the Atlantic convoys, while the other was an Able seaman/electrician aboard the RN destroyer Kenya that was involved in sinking the Bismark and providing support for the Commando raids in Norway. I appreciate what they've done for their Countries and Families and hope to join the Canadian Army myself and serve like what my grandfathers did.
