I think that the story is somehow he became mortal by landing on Earth. When she kills him at the end he becomes a god again.
This has to be the scariest episode of the series. It scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I'm 22 now and I still don't go swimming. This episode is probably why I really don't know how to swim.
