Some notes: There is a pedal tone played on the open "D" string during the intro, play the upper note of the octaves stacatto during the main riff. Chorus chords are Am,D,G,C using lots of chromatic passing tones.

O yeah, use a jazz bass if you want to emulate the tone on the recording. I've sold my MM jazz (sniff) and traded my Carvin for an upright so I'm stuck with only my trusty p-bass!!   less

Their first single, "Boogie Oogie Oogie", from their debut album A Taste of Honey, tapped into the popular disco style and spent three weeks at number one (#1) on the Hot 100 in 1978. The group was awarded a platinum record for this single and album and went on the win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.   less
