The best cage for a russian tortoise is a large bin you can get at home depot. i know it sounds fake but its true.... Glass cages can confuse them and they will attempt to charge through the glass, sometimes getting permanently wounded.

Interspecies-breeding..... it can happen but chances are that even if they mate and the female lays eggs there is a 99% chance that they will be infertile... and if they do hatch even then they will probably die right when they hatch or die of sickness a couple days later
