Toscanini was relatively fanatical about 'following the score' putting him in the same boat as Klemperer regarding tempo issues is trying to say oil and water are the same thing. Agreed Jarvi is fantastically spot on. Love this concert.

Fantastic!
And if it seems speedy that is probably because few people (although more these days) do Beethoven's requested metronome. I like it - you hear the longer phrases clearly.
Rampal was a great artist as well - his intonation was never that great though....
