I've tried wolf steel cased fmj's with no problems with my DI gas AR. It seems most problems with steel case ammo occur in piston ARs. I'm thinking it has something to do with how the rod interfaces with the BCG maybe tilting it up vs. the gas impingement systems smoother uniform action. And lacq...

@maisler first of all not all ar-15 platform firearms are made in the full auto or burst configuration. mine happens to be semi. but thats besides the point im about to make. firearm incidents are not entirely based on the firearm itself but the inexperienced or ill trained operator

@redsoxguy8885 yea .40's are pretty quiet. i made a mistake and left a earplug out after a short convo at the range after shooting a 5.56 and switched to the .40 went threw a few mags and didnt notice the difference in volume

@Calcard94 russians make steel cased and polymer or lacquer coated casings like wolf and brownbear. polymer is usually a medium to dark gray color and the lacquered is a brownish/green color

@NickStedmon a lot goes into the effectiveness of a suppressor like whether it's a dry or wet fired design, caliber, ambient temperatures, and the use of commercial or sub-sonic ammo loads. Sub-sonic ammo can produce that movie type suppressed sound with almost any caliber, but runs a higher risk...
