It wasn't really through choice, a few years back I got a publishing deal and the publisher was saying things like thats great but can we have it a little slower or with different instrumentation. And it was like, well I've just spent $500 recording this one.

So it became more economical in the long run to build a studio. I started naively thinking that I could buy one of those all in one recorders and that would take care of it. The frustrating thing is that one of those recorders will do 75% of the job you want and to get the other 25% you have to spend MONEY.

Doing the odd outside job is slowly getting the studio paid for. Its been a good experience, but I'm a player first and no rocket scientist and I find the badly written manuals frustrating.

Btw, we always use the canned products we make over winter and they last until the next season where we eat fresh again and start canning all over again :) Perhaps Ball or Mason would have the information on shelf life.
