About this user
Born in May, 1956 and currently residing in Alpharetta, Georgia, Lamar Culpepper leads the End Violence Project seminar program in prisons. He also speaks to various organizations to promote the project by sharing the difference made for inmates, prison administrators, and the community. He presently serves as the Southeast Regional Director for the End Violence Project accountable to the Board of Directors in Philadelphia. ~ His passion and commitment to making the difference for inmates are inspired by his first-born son, Dominic, having been tried as an adult for murder in Florida at the age of fourteen, then being sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. When speaking before audiences, he shares the moving experience of the arrest, trial, and incarceration of his son and the impact of that ordeal also suffered by his son, Quinn, eighteen months younger than his brother. Mr. Culpepper now works with inmates for their freedom from the bondage of their own past and for their freedom to be trusted and contributing members of their communities. ~ Introducing the End Violence Project seminar in Florida, the first program delivered outside of Pennsylvania, he is accomplished in leading the program, evaluating the effectiveness of program delivery, writing and revising the program manual, and in training and coaching prospective program leaders. For over two years Mr. Culpepper also effectively led Introductions to the Landmark Forum for potential customers of Landmark Education, a global educational organization that is cutting edge in the training and development industry. In addition, he trained new Introduction Leaders, coaching in four six-month Introduction Leaders Programs. He was Head Coach for one program in Orlando. ~ Interested in working with organizations that share mutual commitments, he served on the board of directors for the Rosebud Advocacy non-profit headquartered in Marietta, Georgia. Rosebud Advocacy sponsors programs and services for inmates and is committed to restoring the formerly incarcerated to community, freeing the human potential, and having a world that works for everyone. ~ The first time Lamar Culpepper saw his son, Dominic, after he had been arrested and jailed for murder, his son laid his head on his fathers shoulder and sobbed. Lamar promised him at that time that he would always love him and would never forsake him. Mr. Culpepper dedicated his life to keeping that promise, not only for his son, but also for others who are incarcerated and are willing to transform their lives. ~ This is your life. These are the circumstances. What are you going to do with that? Who are you going to be in the face of that? Are you going to be resigned and cynical? Are you going to give up? Is life over? Or are you going to look to find what you can find that has living your life be worthwhile?Age

The transformation of the lives of inmates. Ending violence without violence. Causing the paradigm shift from retributive justice, which has never worked, is not working now, and will never work, to that of restorative justice that allows the past and the atrocities of the past to be completed and frees us all to live into a new future of limitless possibilities.
