As far as I remember Gilbert was blacklisted by all the record companies when he took his label to court for the rights of his own music. He won his case and was then blacklisted.

Met Jessie Owens last night at our gig in The Sunnybank Hotel Glasnevin Dublin. He was back in Ireland on hollidays . Now lives in LA. He got up and sang a few songs during the break and can still play and sing well, he also looks great for a guy in his sixties.
