The 1st Stage Mission
The primary goal of 1st Stage is to be a bridge between educational and professional theatre for young and emerging professional artists. 1st Stage will provide a necessary platform for discovery and confidence in young artists through:
·Focused actor and technical education,
·Thorough and vibrant connection to experienced professionals, and
·On-the-job training through performance art.
1st Stage encourages lifelong learning in the arts as a core value in Fairfax County by becoming a resource that connects the county to fresh, imaginative interpretations of classic and contemporary theatre work. It will work to create a strong cultural institution that complements the economic strengths of the community while helping to serve the creative needs of an emerging urban center.
