Yes you can do better by add about 5 more layers of regular black polish, then add one heavy coat of Parade Gloss and one final coat of Cordovan. That'll enhance the mirror gloss.

@Primeda Well in the combat situation of Vietnam many soldiers and Marines use M2/M3 Carbines and Thompson then. Don't underestimate the thing - 150 yards of effective range isn't bad.

@MrMrNastazio There are plenty of good ones out there. Get 'em while they last. Sno seal works as good or maybe better, but you always gotta put dubbin on your leather item first.

@LiveFreeOrDie1985 No, this is for real. A jarhead kid in Afghan got shot right on the head at 50 yards by an RPK. The Marine got bandages all over the wound but he survived and hold his Kevlar on his hand. The new MC lightweight helmet proved itself however. The kid was alright.

@bf2lover42 I don't see much of that kind of malfunction on my 1911 though. It was a vintage pistol, and it is serviceable. However, the stoppages and malfunction caused by slide stops failure or anything similar is pretty much frequently seen on low quality pistol.
