Indeed, a 220gr, 30 caliber bullet has a sectional density of 341 and @ 2600 fps that bullet will produce 3,303 ft/pds of muzzle energy, with proper shot placement there's not much a 30-06 with these ballistics can't do.

Are all blocks of gelatin the same size and weight? I remember seeing brassfetcher gelatin blocks "lift and twist" when shot but I don't recall seeing a gelatin block lift up so evenly and have such hang time, the bullet hits the block a bit low, this might have to do with the blocks reaction...t...

A 300gr H/P in 45-70 @ 1923fps certainly does instill confidence.

With 2/3's less recoil then a 3 inch 12 gauge, I see 5 rds of 00 buck making a fist size wound channel and a complete pass through, very good to have when things go "bump" in the night!
