Actually, what i have read and heard George say about the song is that it is about some friends who were supposed to show up at his place on Blue Jay Way in Los Angeles. As time passed and they didn't show, he got the inspiration for the song.

@xDeadMisfitsx well, there was that song "I Wanna Be Your Man" that the Beatles gave to the Stones and both groups recorded it. Of course, this was in the very beginning of international (meaning making it to America) success the two groups enjoyed.
