Actually, what i have read and heard George say about the song is that it is about some friends who were supposed to show up at his place on Blue Jay Way in Los Angeles. As time passed and they didn't show, he got the inspiration for the song.

Actually the song was written by and originally recorded by Arthur Alexander, as was the Beatles recording Anna. The Beatles do a great job with both, though. These earlier songs of the Beatles show just how talented they were and what a great cover group they were in the early days.

Damn right. And he is underrated as a drummer, but not by his peers, those who know what the hell they're talking about. None other than Ginger Baker of Cream credited Ringo for taking chances and doing things that other drummers up to that time didn't take.

well, there was that song "I Wanna Be Your Man" that the Beatles gave to the Stones and both groups recorded it. Of course, this was in the very beginning of international (meaning making it to America) success the two groups enjoyed.
