*NO SHIT-DISTURBERS ALLOWED*Pleased to meet you! Hope you guess my name... ;-) You won't find any videos of me playing poker, yet, though I don't expect this (nor do I wish it to be) as a popular channel in the future. This is more for my own purposes, than it is for your kill-time entertainment. However, if you share the same interests, then hope you don't cross my path at the table. I have no sympathy for suckers, but you WILL show sympathy for the Devil...
-We all have dreams, right? Some are truly practical, while others are unwittingly viewed through a long, thin pipe. Some dream in flighted fancies of unattainable grandeur, others, with golden stars that fall from the heavens to grant their "deserving" wishes...
I don't think I have those delusions in my head... then again... that's also been said before, by countless others. Many men have wasted their lives, trying to master this game... though in the end, the only master of the game, is the joker in the deck; the one who controls all variance. Instead of "discovering" who I am, I'd rather MAKE who I am in this game.
The dream I have at this point in my life would be to evolve into a successful poker player... I mean, successful enough to shake Doyle Brunson's hand someday and hear about the legends of Stu Ungar, Puggy Pearson, Chip Reese, Johnny Moss and Amarillo Slim, who once stalked the tables of the green felt with unbeatable precision... to sit across from Daniel Negreanu's uncanny reads... to out-play Sammy Farha and Tony G.... maybe even bluff-out Phil Hellmuth Jr. and brag about it to Johnny Chan, while Antonio Esfandiari teaches me how to roll my chips across the green felt like a pro... to spend one night at the Rio, just to hear Scotty Nguyen's laugh in the background over a highball... to stare into the piercing gaze of Phil Ivey, and know that I'm beat... maybe even successful enough to raise a family and support a better life, with a skill that demands daring focus and clever adaptation.
Afterall... what would "Jesus" Ferguson do?
;-)
As for me, I view poker as a tactful mind-game, not some silly bingo sport for the brilliantly uneducated. I bet; I don't gamble, unless I have to. This isn't the lottery for losers. In poker, you have to be prepared for the shortcomings, the bad beats, just like in life, and knowing your limits in a no-limit game. Skill merits consistency, though the cards are worth little more than their face value; let them touch hands that know how to calculate the odds, how to coerce the human mind, how to trap an ego and orchestrate chips with unflinching conviction... then, 52 cards become an unforgiving army of seperate soldiers, kings and queens, jacks and aces. Together, they can conquer or be crushed, along with their commander. From rags to riches, a chip and a chair... the joker awaits.
It's only a game. So, the question is, do you want to play?...
