a new chapter begins

Leaving youtube was never an official thing. I never planned to leave without at least telling people. My life started to get more time consuming and I begun to have no time for vidding. I would find myself starting videos and not being able to find time or the inspiration to finish them.
As I logged on to my channel after about 6 months of inactivity I planned to inform my subscribers that I was leaving and eventually delete my account. I cannot bring myself to do it.
I begun vidding when I was in the sixth grade. The last video I uploaded was my sophomore year of high school. I started off creating videos of high school musical for fun. Eventually I began to interact with other users and explore other things.
Over time, youtube changed dramatically. When I joined it was still on the star system, people commented, and the effects were not nearly as professional.
I've made friends on here and seen many of them leave slowly over time. It makes me sad when I see that almost everyone is gone. My homepage was once filled with at least 50 videos a day and has decreased to about 10. I suppose it was only a matter of time.
Perhaps the reason I can't delete this account is because I sort of grew up with it.
As I look at all my videos I cannot be ashamed of what I've created and the time and effort I've spent on this channel. I am proud of what I managed to accomplish. When I joined I never thought that I would reach nearly 1,000 subs, so many views, and many comments.
I strayed from my original vision for this channel as time changed. I begun it to make videos with storylines and ended making videos purely for effects. This however can probably be said for the entire fandom. The direction that my videos took near the end was not one I wanted. My videos lost meaning and became about speed, flashy effects, and cool colorings.
I also found myself not liking what youtube had become. Videos were getting more uncreative and getting more likes than comments. When I had joined there were no copyright issues or advertisements. No one was getting suspended. The audio wasn't pitch shifted.
Although I had already stopped using clips to vid, I found myself drifting away from vidding as the Disney shows begun to end. I was growing up. There was no longer a reason for me to vid. I felt as the shows ended, so was this chapter of my life.
My FlawlessElegance channel is the only one I will continue to be active on. I watch different shows and favorite a more meaningful type of editing. Due to my schedule I doubt I will ever upload another youtube video.
I cannot begin to explain the things youtube has done for me. I know my way around my computer better than a majority of people my age. Editing has taught me how to look through files, how to find resources, Photoshop, using different applications, and learn how to use different software. Editing has broadened my music taste and helped me find different songs I would have never originally listened to. I use the skills I've learned here all the time.
I can't delete my channel, because I feel that it will always be a part of me. I have no idea who I would be or what I would know without it.
So thank you to my friends, to my subscribers, to my commenters, to eveyone I subscribed to, to everyone I've ever spoken to, to everyone who has even seen one of my videos. You all played a bigger role in my life than I could have ever imagined.
