I also order and placed the OSv2.0 chip from the UK. Works great!
My cardreader works with v1.5 and 2.0, though if you want to connect the sampler to a PC you need v2.0.

I read some positive stories about the "castlewood" but have no experience first hand myself.
In general: Look for a device that uses a "special driver" like "SCSI Emulation mode" etc. so you can hook up more than 1 device and will work with scanners, printers etc.
