Qur'an & Modern Science - Conflict Or Conciliation
The Quran is held as the main source of the Islamic faith, a book believed to be of divine origin, as guidance to all of humanity. The message of the Quran was not only intended for a particular people in time, but rather it is relevant to every age. Does the Quran pass this test? You be the judge, and judge for yourself with no prejudice if you are truthful to yourself. A book claiming Divine origin should be easily verifiable in any era according to the standards of that age. Muslims believe that the Quran is the last and final revelation of God, revealed as a mercy to humanity. Let us therefore investigate the veracity of this belief. Any scripture claiming to be a divine revelation must also be acceptable on the strength of its own reason and logic. Let us therefore study the Quran, and analyse whether the Quran and Modern Science are compatible or not? The Quran is not a book of science but a book of signs, i.e. ayats. There are more than 6000 signs in the Quran of which more than a thousand deal with science.
Muhammad mentioned by name in the Bible
This is a lecture by Sheikh Ahmed Deedat (May Allah (God) reward him.
This is a must see for all to know what has been hidden away from Christians. Muhammad is not only spoken about in the bible but his name is actually there as well.
The Quran mentions in Surah Al-Araf chapter 7 ayah 157:
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the Gospel".
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:
"Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem."
In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarly im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.
