I'm having a fun time learning my way around You Tube Land. I'm very motivated by the idea of carefully selecting ahead of time channels with programs I specially chose for myself and children to watch. I hope to increase our knowledge base by selecting videos that match our interests. I'm considering preparing online word documents as work sheets for the children to fill out this summer as they watch various tutorials that I've organized for them, for example When Caleb watches the video on hammers and how they are used, He could fill out a short on line word document telling me what he learned, or liked or new ideas the video gave him. I'm thinking, this could make the summer a rich educational experience for the children and keep their minds expanding in understanding. I look forward to learning how to make videos and movies with them to post and share with the world as well. I think it would be great to supplement their school projects with videos, and slide shows that they've made for class presentations on the smart board. Today it seems having an understanding of how to work with computers and the world wide internet world is a HUGE part of our critical education...I want to give my kids the experiences it will require to be confident, capable and comfortable with these tools. I hope my channel will help others on a similar journey.
