Agree with you. Also, crab are bottom feeders and exposed to industrial waste in many areas where they are harvested commercially. Removal of innards, particularly before cooking, reduces the potential that we are consuming those toxins.
capnpf2: Apparently you like the flavor of crab innards (crab butter). Personally, I boil the cleaned halves with a crab boil (Zatarins). Cleaning before cooking reduces the amount of toxins (industrial wastes) in the crab meat I consume. Guess that makes us smart asses, huh?
