No need to do any modifications to the rear foot pegs. The pipes come with all necessary hardware, and install very quickly from what I hear (I had a shop do the work for me). Happy riding!

@brian93ist Yes, they still make these pipes. If you do a search for Jardine Pipes Honda Rebel, there are a couple sites that will pop up. When I bought mine, the shop placed the order so I received a discount off the MSRP.

@CarusoZ28 Believe me, it sounds even better in person. I couldn't be happier with the result of the Jardine pipes (and the rear sprocket change...made highway riding a joy).

@renegadebiker24 Couldn't agree more. I just got a Shadow, and it absolutely needs some louder pipes. I've had a few close calls already on my commute to work b/c it just doesn't put out enough sound for the cagers to hear me.

I went to a Harley rally/bike show about a year ago, and it was amazing how many of the guys kept coming up asking me what I had done to the bike. Glad you liked it! Hands down the best mod to a Rebel has got to be the pipes (although changing the rear sprocket was also essential for me as I used to commute several hours by interstate).

The exhaust price varies, but you can definitely replace it yourself if you're handy with a wrench. It's been quite a few years since I made the exhaust switch, but IIRC it was about $300 total for the exhaust, and that included having a shop do the install. Hope this helps!

Honestly, I can't remember if the bike sounded any different with just the pipes done (it's been a while back). IIRC, it sounded similar, but a little more harsh...jetting the carbs smoothed everything out.

The jardine pipes definitely give it a mean sound....and I felt like it helped with cars knowing I was there (had more than one instance where a car veered into me and I either got bumped or almost ate the curb trying to avoid getting hit).

I did still have some slight popping when I came off the throttle, but the shop said it was just a normal. I never had any more discoloration of the pipes. I've called the shop, but have yet to get a response on what size jets they put in. Hope this helps!
