The NRA stans for National Rifle Association. It is a non-profit organization that is suppose to be protecting our 2nd ammendment. Our 2nd ammendment is about how we all have a right to own a gun. BUT, there has been a bill passed, (The Brady Bill) Which is ruining what the 2nd ammendment is all about. The group was formed underground in 1871. The founders were Colonel William C. Church&George Wingate. After being granted a charter by the state of New York, the NRA was founded. Ambrose Burnside became the fledging NRA's first president.
