Whigfield - Saturday Night (HQ 1080p HD Upscale)
"Saturday Night" is a song by Danish singer Whigfield, released to huge success in 1994. Italian producer Larry Pignagnoli had already had success with Spagna in the late 1980s and early 1990s before he produced "Saturday Night" with Danish former model Sannie Carlson aka Whigfield. The track was first released in Italy 1992 and then became a huge hit with UK holidaymakers on the Continent over the summer of 1994, leading to a huge demand for the track back in the UK.
It was released in the UK on September 5, 1994 and the pent-up demand saw the track sail straight in at number one - dethroning Wet Wet Wet's 15 week chart-topper "Love Is All Around", despite that single increasing its sales from 65,000 the previous week to 104,000, when Saturday Night entered at number 1 with sales of 150,000. Whigfield was the first act to debut at number one in the UK charts with their debut single. It stayed at number one for a total of four weeks selling 680,000 in the process, sold a total of 1,092,250 copies and is currently the 65th best selling single in UK chart history.

This is the second and final time for this upload. It is to replace the original video sound which had a mono soundtrack. At the time of the first upload I just did not have a decent stereo track to replace the crappy sound in the source file. A few people have complained about this but I have been biding my time until I got my hands on decent audio to replace it. Now that I have you can stop complaining about the sound.

This came from an good quality dvd vob file that needed some grain/noise removal and I left it at 3 passes to remove the grain and noise, so as not to sacrifice any perceptible image detail. Even so there is still some noise if you look hard enough for it, but most of you won't notice. Removing more would start to damage the image detail on a visible level and I can't be having that. Scaling it up to HD resolution and sharpening wasn't difficult but it took another 24 hours chugging away maxing out the processor on one of my weaker slave computers.
Audio from the source file was bizarre. It had Dolby 5.1 and 2 channel but each track seemed to be 'trashed' almost at the very end of the music as the song was fading out. Reminded me of the old days of cassette tapes and the terrible audio dropouts they would suffer after heavy usage. That's just what it sounded like. To make matters worse the sound is in mono. So why on earth did someone encode this in surround sound when it is in mono? I have no idea where this originated from but it is bizarre. It has good picture quality and that's why it is doing the rounds. I suppose the people who released this file didn't really give a crap about quality control.
This video upload is the best quality one that you will find on youtube for this song. If it's Saturday night where you are then crank up the volume and party! :-)
Be aware that some evil people will download my clip restorations, upload them to their own channel and then try to take credit for my hard work. They will even go so far as to say I stole it from them! What goes around comes around and they are storing up some very bad 'karma' for themselves.
