Played an 'non wooden' buffet b12 until i was past grade six. No problems, decent exam marks. Dont feel the need to splash out on wooden claris too soon. Most players i know play on a Buffet or yamaha.
Don't want to hate on an evidently talented musician, but in my opinion he needs to have a softer reed and maybe a more open mouthpiece and less bite. His tone sounds slightly impure and strangled, and not much of a dynamic contrast.
