Knife making is a science, you don't fail, you learn from your mistakes. The blade, while ugly as to most was a work in progress. The handle very rustic. I like how the grain of the wood shows. Cracks happen. You can/could still cut it down to a skinning knife. I don't think this knife was a fail...
